Visual Merchandising & Store Operations Internship - Summer 2018
This role will report to the Director of Visual Merchandising.
The Visual Merchandising Intern will support the Visual teams in all functions related to merchandising stores. This opportunity will allow for on the job learning experience that is appropriate to their degree and is in line with the expectations of their school. The ideal candidate will have an academic focus in fine arts, design or marketing. This position will be based out of our Chicago, IL headquarters.
Scope of Responsibilities
Assist in building store window fronts and in-store displays
Merchandising mock store for creation of cohesive product stories
Helps execute floor sets in accordance with visual standards and best practices
Managing product in mocks store in coordination with photography and PR efforts
Partner with inventory control and buyers to manage store sample process
Works with buying team in labeling product with required dates and SKU information as needed
Manages distribution of signage, creative samples and product to stores
Assists visual team for product presentation during new product meetings
Works with leadership to develop and coordinate content for monthly store communication.
Interacts with various departments including Store Ops, Merchant and Planning team as well as catalog, photography and web.
Develops an understanding of labor practices and store management
Will gain in-depth knowledge of retail merchandising with substantial role in special projects.
Has experience with Excel, Microsoft Word and Publisher
Effective organizational skills for managing multiple tasks at once
Detail oriented and self-starter
Career interests in design, business management or marketing
Ability to interact and engage cross-functional teams with exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Candidate must have high degree of flexibility and a track record of quickly adapting to an ever-changing environment.
Candidate must display a positive, can-do attitude and must be an active team player.
Creative and innovative thinker
30 hrs per week or in accordance with the college course requirements.
Must be able to receive college credit
Must be at least 18 years of age and enrolled in your sophomore, junior or senior year at an accredited college or university
Must be able to work from our Chicago Headquarters
